Ontario Athletes Alexandra Joy and Madeline Schmidt Finish 8th in the Women's K-4 500m Event at the Junior World Championships

Alexandra and Madeline (both from the Rideau Canoe Club in Ottawa) along with Liz Girgulis (Alberta) and Adrianne Langlois (Quebec) formed the Women’s K-4 that competed for Canada in the Women’s K-4 500m Event at the Junior Worlds Championships in Brandenburg, Germany this past weekend.  Joel Castonguay from the Mississauga Canoe Club and Max Poulin from Quebec finished  6th in the B-final of the Men’s C-2 200m event.  Chris Vincent also from Mississauga competed in the C-1 1000m event  and fibished 8th in the semi final.  Chris and Joel were also part of the C-4 1000m that raced well but was unable to advance from the semi-final.  For a complete list of results please visit http://www.canoe-brandenburg.de/8.0.html.
